Scraaaaape!

Tori had a run in with the concrete again last night. While sitting outside in a plastic chair that is low to the ground, she leaned over the side. The chair went over and so did she. The concrete met her face and she got a good size scrape and a little blood drawn on her nose. She looks like she has a red face tattoo similar to Mike Tyson's face tattoo around his eye. She isn't any worse for the were and will be fine in a couple of days.

This is from Easter, but you get the idea as to her mood after her scrape!

Pop Goes the Tori

Tori has a new game. It consists of her pulling herself up on the pool table leg, while her brother makes her laugh from the other leg. It looks like this.

Two-Bath Tori

If Tori was alive during the western expansion of America, her nickname would've been along the line of Two-Bit Tori. In her case, she would've been Two-Bath Tori. She loves them to no end. It usually occurs like this, Tori gets dirty after eating, she gets her bath. Her brother gets his bath. He either A) Wants Tori to take a bath with him (which she gladly obliges) or B) She makes a mad dash for the tub when the water turns on. If you want to see her move some where fast, turn on the bath tub water. She is there as soon as she hears it.

Notice Tori's Dry Hair, This is her 2nd Bath of the Night.

Ahh Dirty Bath Water, A Cool and Refreshing Drink!

Apparently, the tradition of drinking the water you were bathed in was passed down from the wild west days. The tradition of having 1 bath a month (if you were lucky) has gone by the way side. I'm sure Two-Bath Tori appreciates that the most.

Around

Tori gets around everywhere. She even gets where she isn't supposed to be.

One of these days, she's going to get stuck in some place she isn't supposed to be. Then we'll really hear a lot of crying.

Normal for Her

After 2 bad nights of sleep (we think it is due to teething) Tori only got up once and gave us a semi-break last night. Other than that, she's been a crawling machine lately. She goes every where with speed. She also bites everything, including my shoes, while I'm wearing them. I was on the ladder, she pulled herself up to the second rung and started biting my shoes. I guess teething makes you bite strange things. She's also started to reach for us (as in put an arm out and lunge) and she'll even give you five repeatedly. She definitely isn't a baby anymore. They seem to grow too fast at times.

Food and Easter

See this 10-month old? I'll tell you a secret about her. SHE DOESN'T LIKE BABY FOOD ANYMORE! She refuses to eat it. She keeps shaking her head no like she is being tortured when a spoon of it comes near her head. She's like a baby version of Linda Blair in the Exorcist without all the vomiting.

What will she eat you ask? Just about anything in your hands. It does have to be some what soft since her 4 teeth can only do a little nibbling. Stick your finger too far in to feed her and she'll nibble on that too. Weaning her off baby food isn't a problem. Getting her to sleep through the night still is a problem.

Easter came and went without much fan fare for Tori. She is too small to realize what is going on and can't even clap, so dyeing eggs is out of the question. She received stuffed animals (she kept burying her face in the stuffed bunny), bunny glasses, water squirters and the prerequisite candy mother-lode. All she needs is the rest of her teeth so she can start rotting them with candy.

Sleep

She slept all night! Shocking I know. She grumbled a few times during the night, but put herself back to sleep before we even got out of bed. She was still up at 9 pm when I got home and went to sleep pretty quickly after that. Just a little bottle a light blanket and she was out. She hardly even moved when I put her down.

She was happy as a clam when she awoke at 5:30, but that sure beats getting up in the middle of the night. She wasn't even hungry when she got up, all she wanted to do was play with her brother. I'm sure that won't last forever, but it is nice while it lasts.

Sleepless Wonder

Tori had gotten into a pattern where she only woke once during the night and it was early. Yesterday and last night shattered all of that. She got an early cat nap in the morning and then would fall asleep, but once you put her down, she woke right up crying to be let out. So this routine was repeated until 3 pm when she finally was crabby and tired enough that she cried herself to sleep in 10 minutes. She only slept for 90 minutes, but seemed ready to go.

That night she went to bed around 8:30 and woke up 5 times! I slept through 2 of her wakings (yes, I would be a crappy single parent) and got up with her at 5:45 while her mama was in the shower. She was happy as a clam, while I was still groggy (par for my mornings).

It took Ollie 9 months to sleep through the night, she's going on 10. I'm not sure what its going to take to get her to do the same. Whatever it is, I hope we discover it soon.

Jailbird

100_0180

The little jailbird that is trying to bite her way out of her prison, spent a few hours with a babysitter last night. We took Ollie with us because we knew he wouldn't stay. We handed Tori off to Tresa's co-workers teenage daughter Kelsi for a few hours. Tori started to get a pouting face when she realized that her parents didn't have her anymore. Toys made a good distraction while we made our escape.

We came back to pick her up 2 hours later and she was sound asleep. She woke briefly as we put her in her car seat, got her into the car and into bed. Other than that, it was a normal night for her.

Bath Time

Tori loves her baths! Every time she hears the bath water running, she gets excited and makes a break for the bathroom. It makes it difficult to get her undressed for her bath. She likes playing with the toys in the bath. She even got new expensive ($1) duckies to play with in the tub. But she seems to be more interested in being a daredevil and chewing on the toys than playing with them. She recently got her first sink bath and enjoyed it as well.

Tori and the Hot Dog

What's this thing?

Not Sure About the Taste

Ok, I'm Done

These were taken last night. She seemed to like the hot dog and as you can tell, her teeth got a few chunks out of it. She's working her way up to real food. Of course her favorite is ice cream. I've now passed that on to both of them.

Daredevil

This weekend we met a new person. Her name is Daredevil! She isn't base on the comic strip by the same name, but for someone her size, she takes big risks. It started innocently enough, she just pulled herself up on the side of the tub during a bath. Once there, she let go, made a big splash and laughed to herself. She them repeated the entire scenario over and over until her bath was done. I thought it might be a one night thing, but she's repeated it every night since. Click the picture to watch the Daredevil

She is very in love with her baths. While putting away her laundry the other night, she crawled from her room to the tub, pulled herself up and tried to get in it. She is definitely a water baby.
